Hey there, mama! Today, we’re diving into the wonderful world of systems. No, not the ones your kids set up with their toys, but the game-changing, life-organizing systems that will make you feel like you can conquer the world. Buckle up, because we’re about to embark on a journey of organizational bliss!
So, what exactly is a system? According to John Maxwell in his book 15 Laws of Invaluable Growth, he defines a system as: “a process for predictably achieving a goal, based on specific, orderly, repeatable principles and practices. Systems are deliberate, intentional and practical (109).”
Similarly, James Clear in his book, Atomic Habits, Clear points out that goals are about achieveable results, while systems are the processes that lead to those results. In a popular quote often referenced from this book, he states “you do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems.” Whoa, how is that for motivation?
According to the wise words of John Maxwell and James Clear, it’s like having a roadmap to success. Picture this: You’ve got a goal in mind, whether it’s acing that presentation at work or finally mastering the art of meal prepping. Goals are fantastic, but it’s the systems that get you there. They’re the nitty-gritty, step-by-step processes that make those goals achievable, repeatable, and dare I say, fun!
