At the time of this recording, my 1:1 strategy session slots are full until mid-August. Inquiries are rolling in every day and I thought it would be fun to share what a strategy session with a dream life designer looks like. After all, what do you talk about in a life coaching session? I get this question a lot and I’m excited to share all the things with you today. Let’s dive in!
The first step to booking a 1:1 strategy session with me, a dream life designer, is to fill out the coaching application form on my website. If you have taken a peek at it, you will notice that it is pretty intensive. There’s a reason for that! Before we begin working together, I want to make sure that we are a good fit. As a certified life coach, there are a lot of areas that I can support busy moms in. However, if I feel as though a licensed therapist is a better fit for you, I want the application to help us determine that.
After the coaching application is submitted, I connect with a potential client via email. We will broadly discuss your goals and the season of life that you are in right now. From your application and our email exchange, I will determine the goal(s) for your session(s) and send it along to you before we meet, so you feel prepared for our conversation.
As a dream life designer, we are going to focus mostly on where you are now in relation to where you want to be. What do you talk about in a life coaching session? Some of the topics that we will discuss and strategize in depth include:
These are just broad categories to get us started with the conversation in designing your dream life. Obviously, when creating your entire dream life, there are many aspects that need to be considered. Because of that, our conversation often covers a wide range of categories.
In addition the above categories, mindset, habit work and goal-setting are a big part of our discussion. If a client does not yet have an organizational system in place, that is also something we typically discuss in an early call.
As you may have guessed, no two strategy sessions look alike. If you have opted for just a single 1:1 strategy call, we will get right to work to tackle as much as we can in the time that we have. If you have opted for a coaching package that includes multiple calls, we will tackle your dream life vision in a strategic way by really taking the time to assess where you are, what small changes you can implement immediately and create a customized game plan for your next steps.
1:1 strategy calls typically last 60-90 minutes and take place on Zoom.
So what happens after your strategy session? I am a firm believer that we can strategize all we want, but actions need to happen in order to see lasting change in your life. Because of that, after your call, you will receive a thorough action plan that serves several purposes. First, it serves as a summary of what we discussed, so you do not have to frantically take notes during the call. Next, it provides you with micro-wins that you can tackle right away to see instant success. And finally, I map out a series of next steps and resources that will help you to use the time that you do have as a busy mom efficiently.
The feedback that I have received from clients is that while the call is powerful for creating excitement and confidence, the action plan is the true gold. This is where your dreams start to turn into plans. And there’s nothing more exciting than that, mama!
