If you told me five years ago that I would now work as a dream life designer for busy moms, I would have at least 9 questions to ask you. The first one would be: what the heck is a dream life designer?! And how can I be one when I am so … miserable?
I have a confession to make : five years ago, I truly did not feel like I would ever be able to live my dream life. If anything, I felt trapped and overwhelmed in the life I had created. After all, this had been my dream life once upon a time. But now? Not so much. Now that my babies lived outside my Pinterest boards and everything was always sticky, I began to question if this was it.
But then, I began my personal growth journey. I defined what my dream life looked like now, as a busy mom and things began to change. Five years later, I am a dream life designer for busy moms who feel trapped in their former dream life. What is a dream life designer? I am so glad you asked!
A dream life designer is the title that I gave myself after I started life coaching busy moms. At first, I called myself a personal growth coach. But personal growth is a pretty ambiguous concept. And moms didn’t want to grow, they wanted change! They wanted their dream lives yesterday, please. That is where the concept of a dream life designer came in.
I help busy moms define what their dream life looks like. Then, we create a concrete action plan to get there. Through accountability and support systems, I coach moms to be the best versions of themselves and implement immediate glow-ups to their lives.
My favorite part about my job is seeing moms’ faces light up after they tell me about what they implemented after our last strategy session. The pure joy, hope and realization that they aren’t actually trapped in their lives, but rather this is just the beginning. I help busy moms turn their dreams into plans and it is magical.
When I taught fifth grade, I would always share a definition with my students and then immediately discuss the opposite of the definition. Why? Because it really helped them to understand the complexity of the concept. Let’s do that here together, what is a dream life designer NOT?
A dream life designer is not a licensed therapist or doctor. If a client is struggling with something outside of my scope of work, that is something I share right away.
Another thing a dream life designer is not is a miracle worker. We will strategize and create an action plan that will get you to your results quickly. But then, it is up to you to put in the hard work to turn your dream life into your real life. Unfortunately, I can’t be with you every step of the way. But you can sure as heck know that I will be cheering you on the whole time!
I love this question! One of my favorite things is to get a sneak peek behind the curtains of people’s day-to-day activities. My days are constantly changing and evolving (which I love!) but typically, I spend my time:
I have also been working on an exciting and somewhat related passion project, which is my book: Dreams into Plans: A Busy Mom’s Roadmap To Designing A Life You’re Obsessed With. Oh, and don’t forget my family photography business and that low-stress job of being a mom and wife.
I help moms that are at all stages of their personal growth journeys. We will work together to create your dream life vision in vivid detail. From there, we will work to develop organizational systems, habits and an action plan to start changing your life today. You will be amazed that from our very first strategy session, you will have immediate action steps that you can implement to see results today.
Probably the biggest way that I can help you as a dream life designer is by expediting your process. When I designed my own dream life, I had to do it on my own. I devoted hours and hours of time that I really didn’t have on Pinterest and Google, trying to piece together a plan that I wasn’t sure would work. You get to skip that step when you work with me, mama! There will be no more time wasted on Internet rabbit holes. We will get results, together, quickly, I promise.
Take a moment to think about if now feels like the right time to work with a dream life designer. I have found that moms that get the most out of 1:1 sessions are moms that are out of the newborn/infant stage, for obvious reasons (hello, sleep deprivation!). That being said, I have also worked with moms that are newly empty nesters, after their children have left for college. If this feels like it may be the right time for you, reach out so we can start a conversation!
